Harry D. Bruce, Jr.

Harry D. “Corky” Bruce, Jr., age 82, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
He was born July 23, 1934 in Yeagertown, PA to the late Harry D., Sr. and Martha Mae (Clark) Bruce, and was the widower of Margaret J. (Day) Bruce who passed January 23, 2014. They had been married for over 50 years.
Harry was owner/operator of Bruce’s Sunoco, Carlisle for 13 years. He most recently had worked at the Holiday Inn, Carlisle and had previously worked for the Turnpike Commission working in maintenance and as an ambulance driver and for A.M.P. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of vehicles and woodworking.
He is survived by: a daughter, Carol A. (husband David) Adams of Carlisle; two grandsons, Zachary Adams of Davis, WV and Christopher (wife Cynthia) Dyson of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Jennifer Adams of Upper Chichester, PA; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Dyson. In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by a brother, Robert H. Bruce and a sister, Betty J. Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
