Harold G. “Gil” Clouser, age 78, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Forest Park Health Center.
He was born October 22, 1938 in Newport to the late Russell H. Sr. and Nancy J. (Shoff) Clouser.
Gil honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a radio-code operator. He retired from Ralston-Purina as a forklift operator after decades of work. He was a Penn State sports fan, especially football and baseball, enjoyed playing cards and dancing to country music. He loved country music and really enjoyed Tanya Tucker and Barbara Mandrell. Gil was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He coached his son, Tony, in football and enjoyed going to the beach and camping with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by: Carolyn M. Clouser; a daughter, Tammy S. Lough; a son, Anthony G. Clouser; granddaughter, Kristina M. Brinton; grandson, Derrick L. Brinton; great-grandchildren, Kendall M. Ellis, Kiley M. Brinton and Brantley M. Barrick; and a foster-brother, Daniel Comp. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his siblings, Russell M. Clouser, Jr., Alice M. Clouser, Mary J. Clouser, Carl Clouser, Richard U. Clouser, Marlin M. Clouser and Clarence E. Clouser.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with Pastor Tim Wagner officiating. There will not be a viewing or visitation.
