H. Virginia " Ginny" Wilson

H. Virginia “Ginny” Wilson, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at her home.

She was born August 22, 1933 in Meredith, PA to the late Blair and Ossie (Himes) Adams. Virginia was the widow of Stanley E. Wilson who passed in 2013.

She enjoyed quilting, dancing, gardening, traveling, and flowers. Ginny spent the winter months in Florida with her late husband Stan. She was a former member of both the Whirl-A-Ways and the Penn Dixie Square Dance Campers. Virginia retired from the former PPG Industries in Mt. Holly Springs after 20 years of employment.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff J. (wife Coralita) Wilson of Carlisle and Darrell W. (wife Michelle) Wilson of Bristol, VA; one daughter, Yvonne D. Wilson (partner Tess Jenkins) of Harrisburg; one sister, Thelma Kirkpatrick of Rural Valley, PA; four grandchildren, Brittany (husband Wes) Woodby of Bristol, VA, Hannah McCracken of Enola, Connor Burrowes of Carlisle, and Kevin Wilson of Carlisle; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cale, and Jacob Woodby; one niece, Michelle (husband Dave) Hockenberry; and one nephew, Denny (wife Patty) Kirkpatrick. In addition to her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Adams and Erma Dovenspike; and one nephew, Adam Dovenspike.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Carlisle First Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Virginia to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street New York, NY 10016.
