Gwenn Bream Drum, age 82, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
She was born October 18, 1934 in Gettysburg, PA to the late Glenn and Marion (White) Bream. Gwenn was a retired Realtor for Jack Gaughen Real Estate Agency of Carlisle. She graduated from Gettysburg High School with the class of 1952 and was a 1956 graduate of Ursinus College, where she majored in Physical Education and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
Gwenn loved to sing and was a member of the Greater Harrisburg Chapter of Sweet Adelines for many years. She was a longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church in Carlisle where she sang in the choir and served as a Deacon, a Trustee, and a member of Stephen's Ministries. It was important to Gwenn to help others and she was a Charter Member, Trustee and Board Member of the Carlisle Area Sertoma Club. She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed knitting, singing, and her Lunch Bunch. In the week preceding her death, Gwenn attended her HS Holiday party, sang in two Sweet Adelines Holiday shows over the weekend, and was scheduled to join friends singing Christmas carols in a number of local nursing homes – while her death was a shock to all, she died in her sleep as she wanted.
Gwenn is survived by her two daughters, Alison (and husband Michael) Althouse of Forest Hill, MD and Jessica (and husband Eric) Lindsay of Neptune Beach, FL; one son, Trevor (and wife Jean) Drum of Dover, MA; five beloved grandchildren; and five nieces with whom she was also very close. In addition to her parents, Gwenn was preceded in death by her two sisters, Jody Pardee and Jean Raffensperger.
