Glen R. Sheaffer

Glen R. Sheaffer, 86, of Dillsburg, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born August 27, 1925 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Hattie Sheaffer.
He worked over 32 years as a fish culturist for the Huntsdale Fish Hatchery. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren. Glen was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 50 years, H. Romaine “Skip” Sheaffer of Dillsburg; four step-sons, Edward Hoover of Apollo, James Hoover (and wife, Nancy) of Enola, Linwood Hoover (and wife, Donna Lee) of Mechanicsburg, and Richard Hoover (and wife, Darleen) of Selinsgrove; one sister, Lois Cohick of Newville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne, Bob, and Marlin; two sisters, Janet and Ruth; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren, 170 Church Road, Carlisle with Rev. Jan Custer officiating. Burial will be in the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
