Gladys N. Paxton, 92, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 30, 1927 in Carlisle, to the late David and Mary (Salisbury) Nailor. She was the widow of Clair “Ted” Paxton who passed in April of 1990.
Gladys was a graduate of Carlisle High School. She was employed by Reeves-Hoffman for more than 30 years before she went to work for Claremont Nursing Home, where she ultimately retired. Gladys was a former member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending her free time reading and playing games at the casino.
Gladys is survived by her four children, Larry (wife Diane) Paxton of Ocalla, FL, Gary (wife Vicki) Paxton of Carlisle, Emma Jane (husband Steven) Mackey of Carlisle, and Pamela (husband Chuck) Kritschgau of Carlisle; one brother, Oscar Miller of Huntsdale; one sister, Amey Griffie of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Nailor and one sister, Virginia Menges.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
