Gladys Jane De Glas

Gladys Jane De Glas, 84, of Carlisle, died peacefully, Sept. 21, 2011, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.

Gladys was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Ellsworth J. and Ella Heller Miller.

She was a graduate of Carlisle High School. She was employed by Standard Pizo and Health Mart, both of Carlisle. Gladys was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. She loved participating in Messiah Adult Day Care Program with her husband, Andre'. Gladys was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Andre J. De Glas of Carlisle; two daughters, Kathy A. Paterson and Jacqueline A. Withum (and husband, Frederick III), both of Carlisle; one sister, Violet I. Otto of Carlisle; one brother, Ellsworth L. Miller of Carlisle and four grandchildren: Aaron T. Patterson, Megan A. Patterson, Frederick Story Withum IV and Andrew De Glas Withum. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kent T. Patterson, and a brother, Harvey Miller.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at St. Patrick Shrine Catholic Church, 140 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle with Rev. Dwight D. Schaline as celebrant. Private burial will be in St. Patrick Church Cemetery, Carlisle.
