Gilbert Williams

Gilbert J. Williams, 93, of Carlisle, formerly of Ashland, PA, passed away at his home on December 26, 2023. He was the son of the late Arthur and Gertrude Williams.

He was in the US Navy for 20 years, retired from there and went to work at Letterkenny Army Depot and retired from there as well.

Gilbert was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State fan for all his life.

He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church, Carlisle.

Gilbert was the most loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was completely devoted to his family and worked hard to make sure that his family was always well taken care of.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye, of 60 years, his three daughters, Marie Cook, her husband, Russ, of Carlisle, Kathy Troup, her husband, Brian, of Williamstown, Lisa Schoenly, her husband, Brett, of Emmaus, his son, Randy Williams, of Pottsville, four granddaughters, three grandsons and one great great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Troy Stover.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 12 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., where the family will greet guests after 11 am prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
