Gerald F. Madrzykowski, 72, of Mount Joy, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Hospice of Lancaster County.
Born June 15, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of the late Walter S. Sr. and Dorothy Teters Schrenk Madrzykowski.
Most recently, Jerry worked as a tour coach driver for Executive Coach Lancaster and was a Teamsters Truck Driver for 40 years, driving for Roadway Express from 1994-2007. He was a member of the Cumberland County Model Railroad Association and a member and usher of the Brethren in Christ Church, Carlisle. He was a chaplain for Truck Stop Ministries of Atlanta, Ga., and ministered from the Petro and Flying J truck stops of Carlisle. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are two brothers, Thomas E. Madrzykowski of Irvin, Texas, and Walter S. Madrzykowski Jr. of Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Barbara; two step-daughters, Jeanie Nelson of Manitou Springs, Colo., and Danielle O’Rourkle Madrzykowski of Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Larry Madrzykowski.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 28 at the Brethren in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Alan Robison officiating.
