George H. Jumper

George H. Jumper, 100 yrs. of age, of Carlisle, PA died on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Thornwald Home in Carlisle, PA.
He was born on September 23, 1919 in Boiling Springs, PA to the late Walter H. and Emma Stambaugh Jumper and was the widow of Jean I. Skelly Jumper who passed on July 17, 1995.
You may remember George from the Carpet Weaving Department at C.H. Maslands in Carlisle, PA. where he had worked for forty-two years.
George was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Carlisle, PA. George honorably served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army’s 68th Tank Co. in Germany. He was a member of the PA National Guard 104TH Tank Company and the Gobin Guard both of Carlisle, PA. He was a life member of the Boiling Springs VFW Post #8851, American Legion Post # 101 and VFW Post #477 both of Carlisle, PA.
He is survived by a son Leslie H. Jumper, Sr. of Carlisle, PA and two daughters; Patricia Kiehl and her husband John, of Peoria, AZ., and Francine Handshew of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA with the Rev. William E. Pipp officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday December 30th from 10:00 AM till time of services. Interment with full military Honors will be provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard and will be held in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial’s in George’s name may be made to the Cumberland County Honor Guard 20 N. Hanover St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
