George €œBrownieã¢Â‚¬Â F. Seibert

George “Brownie” F. Seibert, Jr., 84, of Carlisle, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born March 6, 1927 in Spring Run, he was a son of the late George, Sr. and Nora Happle Seibert and the widower of Mabel Watson Seibert.
He retired as a supervisor after 32 years at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He was a US Army veteran who served during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 6168; American Legion Post, 223; Minnequa Club, all of Shippensburg; AMVETS, Post 224, Chambersburg; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299; White Circle Club; VFW Post 477, all of Carlisle and VFW Post 6070, Newville.
Surviving are his companion, Jean Bouder; four children Joyce Ickes (and husband, J. Michael) of Newville and Sharon Reed (and husband, Paul) of Alaska, Wayne Seibert (and wife, Dorothy) of Shippensburg and Anthony Seibert of Carlisle; one sister, Mary Gordon of Newville; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, Bruce, Cloyd and Eugene Seibert and two sisters, Margaret Seibert and Dorothy Hershey.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Timothy D. Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
