Gary L. Rhoades, 69, of Carlisle, PA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side, on December 9, 2021. He was born June 14, 1952, in Fort Monmouth, NJ, to the late Lee F. and Lois B. (Deitch) Rhoads.
Gary was a very proud United Sates Marine Corps veteran, having served multiple tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the First Church of God in Plainfield, the Carlisle Aerie #1299 Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Marine Riders Motorcycle Club. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting, playing the guitar, and working on cars with his sons Brian and Jeff.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Debra K. (White) Rhoades; sons Jeff Rhoades and his wife Benicia of Newville and Brian Rhoades and his wife April of Newville; grandchildren Trevor, Alyssa, Brianna, and Kirsten; great grandchildren Colby, Kayden, and Briella; brother Scott Rhoades and his wife Kimberly of Carlisle and sister Lana Davis and her husband Lester “Skip” of Carlisle and beloved puppies Lillie and Dusty. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. In addition to his late parents, Gary was preceded in death by eight beautiful little angel grandbabies and his in-laws Dale R. and Harriet E. (Morton) White.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Plainfield First Church of God, 2089 Newville Rd., Carlisle, PA 17081. Viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00AM until service time. Interment will take place at Young’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shermans Dale.
