G. William "Bill" Crawford

G. William "Bill" Crawford, 74, of Chambersburg, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at home.
Born May 28, 1940 in Berkley Springs, WV, a son of the late James Golden and Delsie Butts Crawford.
Bill retired as a US Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1990, after serving his country for thirty years. He was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, a member of Medairy Lodge #140 F&AM Williamsport, MD, a life member of the following clubs: American Legion Post #202, Williamsport, MD; VFW Post #1936 Hagerstown, MD; AmVETS Post #10, Hagerstown, MD; Carlisle Elks BPO Lodge #578; Vikings Athletic Association, York; Goodwill Athletic Association, Hagerstown, MD, a member of the Marine Corp League of Chambersburg, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1191, Waynesboro, Carlisle Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1299. Bill enjoyed going to Florida for the Winters, Flea Markets, Old Cars and trucks. He especially loved his little poodle, "Muffie".
Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. Blett Crawford of Chambersburg; one daughter, Lisa A. Crawford of Scranton; and five nieces: Valerie Martin and her husband John and their children, T. J. and Eric, Sharon Salchert of Sunbury, Pamela, Patricia and Karen Crawford's. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and James Crawford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Denise B. Horn officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle with full military honors being provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 12:30 p. m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 1:45 p.m. by the Cumberland Star Lodge #197 of Carlisle.
