Fred "Freddie" L. Baldwin

May 28, 1938 — October 24, 2020

Fred “Freddie” Baldwin, age 82, of Carlisle died on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Carlisle, PA on May 28, 1938 to the late Fredrick and Erma Shughart Baldwin.
Fred had worked at the Lebo’s Sheet Metal Shop in Carlisle for many years and also at the Carlisle Hospital. He was a member of Salem Stone United Church of Christ where he held many leadership positions and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1956. Fred honorably served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member and Chaplain for the West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Company. Fred was a member of the Arnot Sportsman’s Association of Arnot, PA, Cumberland Valley Sportsman Association of Carlisle, the Twin Springs Hunting Camp of Blain, PA and the Twin Pines Hunting Camp of Mansfield, PA.
Fred enjoyed hunting, painting, camping, long rides in the mountain and working in his shop. His family meant the most to him, especially his loving grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carolyn L. Ulsh Baldwin, son, Michael Baldwin (wife Susan) of Carlisle, two daughters, Staci Lehman (husband Douglas) of Carlisle, Wendy Eppley (husband David) of Camp Hill and his sister Brenda Shoemaker of Newville, PA. Also surviving are his five loving grandchildren, Megan Davenport (husband Casey), Brooke Lehman, Benjamin Eppley, Blair Lehman and Bailey Lehman. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Baldwin.
There will be a Pass-Through viewing on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 6-8 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA. As mandated by Gov. Wolf, maximum capacity during gatherings is restricted, and you may be asked to wait at the door when you arrive until the numbers allow for your entrance. Funeral services will be held privately at the funeral home with the Pastor Linda Kent as officiant and also live streamed. Interment will also be private in the Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Fred’s name may be made to the Salem Stone U.C.C., P.O. Box 357, Carlisle PA 17015 or to the West Pennsboro Vol. Fire Company, P.O. Box 121 Plainfield, PA 17018.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013.
