Frank M. Frey Jr.

Frank M. Frey Jr., 92 of Carlisle, died Monday, July 25, 2016 in Forest Park Health Center.


Born January 4, 1924 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Frank M. and Emma Jane Garman Frey.


Frank was the former Chief of Police for Middlesex Twp, retiring in 1984 after over 20 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his country during WWII. A member of Cumberland County K9 Corp and Bonnybrook Riding Club where he was past president. Frank was the longest serving member of Carlisle Fire and Rescue. He was a member of AM VETS, Post #274 Carlisle, Saxton Sportsman Club, Saxton, PA and the Moose Lodge, Millerstown, PA. Frank was very passionate about animals and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and boating.


He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda D. Frey, a son Frank M. Frey III, Carlisle, two step-sons, Brian E. Walsh and his wife Valerie and Jeffrey K. Walsh, both of Carlisle, a sister, Emma Jane Russ and her husband William, Landisburg, four grandchildren, Lucinda Frey, F. David Frey, Luanne Kyle and Kevin Frey, three step-grandchildren, Brian E. Walsh II, Cassandra Walsh and Abraham Brown, seven great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Frey Kennedy, a brother, Fred Frey, a two half-brothers, Walter Kitner and Samuel Kitner, three half-sisters, Mary Franciscus, Mae Nelson and Cora Kitner.




Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, July 30, 2016 in the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, with the Pastor Gay Russ Irwin officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing from 9:30 am Saturday until the time of the services in the funeral home.
