Francis J. De Renzo, 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 in his home.
He was born June 22, 1933 in Elmira, NY to the late Albert J. Sr. and Mary (Calorosa) De Renzo.
Francis’s love of cars led him to work at numerous car dealerships in different capacities, own a gas / service station and later work at AutoZone. He enjoyed woodworking, working with electric, discussing politics and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and sang his rosary daily while watching EWTN. Francis honorably served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force before retiring.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth De Renzo of Carlisle; one daughter, Elizabeth De Renzo (husband Rick Armolt) of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Zane and Gemma De Renzo-Armolt; and two sisters, Dorothy Ames of Elmira and Mary (husband George) Rafferty of Gainesville, FL. In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his brother, Albert J. De Renzo Jr.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Martin O. Moran III officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 152 East Pomfret Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
