Frances Gertrude Rose

Frances Gertrude Rose, 80, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born March 8, 1933 in Tarentum, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Blanche Sutton Plouchard.
She graduated from Tarentum High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart in 1952. She worked for ALS for fifteen years and later for the Cumberland County Probation Office for twenty-five years until she retired. She enjoyed caring for her thirty-two rose bushes and feeding song birds and hummingbirds. Caring and baking for her granddaughter, children and friends were always a passion for Fran. She was a team mother for Carlisle Midget Football and North Middleton Little League Baseball and enjoyed visiting her daughter's third grade classroom.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-one years, Donald H. Rose of Carlisle; one son, Michael Rose (and wife, Heather) of Mt. Holly Springs; one daughter, Michele Novello (and husband, Bob) of Denver; one granddaughter, Morgan Rose; and one brother, Charles A. Plouchard of Lower Burrell. Also surviving are several nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Jennifer J. McKenna officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
