Forrestine “Frankie” Ramona Bretz Gilpatrick, 91, of 3201 Abbott Dr. Powder Springs, GA. stepped into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on 5/7/2020. Born on 6/30/28 in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emory W. Bretz (Sherriff of Cumberland County 1942-1945) and Esther May Newcomer Bretz. Frankie graduated from Carlisle High School and worked at the Army War College in Carlisle PA for several years. It was in Carlisle that she met her husband, Nevin B. Gilpatrick, Jr who had just graduated from Dickenson Law School. Frankie and Nevin lived in various places in Pennsylvania including Carlisle, Philipsburg and Butler before they moved to South Florida where they spent 28 years. In 2006, they moved to Powder Springs GA. Frankie had a great zest for life and an enormous love for her entire family, cars, dogs, poetry and her Church. A longtime United Methodist member, she served on her Churches Administrative Board, was a member of the United Methodist Women, sang in the Church choir, taught Sunday School and did much volunteer work. Frankie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Nevin B. of Powder Springs, GA, A daughter Kelly Ann of Partlow VA, a son Scott Keith of Marietta GA, a granddaughter, Heather Linderman of Patrlow VA, a grandson, Dustin Linderman of Atlanta GA and 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her brother William G Bretz, Vilas NC and two sisters D. Maxine Bretz Phillipy, Carlisle PA and Jeanne Bretz Weeks of Lakeway TX. Funeral Services are being held graveside at Westminister Cemetary on 5/14/20 at 2 PM where Frankie will be buried next to her parents. Her family’s broken hearts can only begin to mend by the memories of the abundant love she shared and with our faith and promise that she is in heaven waiting for the rest of her family to enter eternity. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd Carlisle, PA 17013.
