Forestine C. Kelly

Forestine C. Kelly, 92, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home.
She was born May 6, 1929, in Carlisle to the late Helen (Walker) Shirley and was the widow of Kenneth W. Kelly who passed in 2003.
Forestine was a graduate of Carlisle Area High School. She worked most of her life as a seamstress performing alterations on clothing for so many in our area. The sweaters she gave her family as Christmas gifts displayed her knitting talents.
Forestine is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia A. (husband Chip) Shughart of Newville; two grandchildren, Kenneth (wife Karol) Shughart of North Carolina and Julie (husband Brian) Lay of Newville; three great-grandchildren, Karson Shughart and Ian and Ava Lay; several nephews; and one niece. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Bob, Donna, and Darlene.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
