Flora A. Fraker, 85, of Carlisle, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born December 13, 1926 in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of the late Thomas K. and Elizabeth L. Strait Downes and the widow of William A. Fraker, Jr.
Flora retired with more than 25 years at C H Masland and Sons and was a member of its 25 Year Club. She was a former member of Barnitz United Methodist Church. Flora enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, collecting salt and pepper shakers and collecting cookbooks, of which she had over 500.
Surviving are two sons, James E. Fraker (and wife, Debra) of Carlisle and Carl L. Fraker (and wife, Janice) of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Phyllis J. Minnich (and husband, William) of Mechanicsburg and Diane E. Harrold (and husband, Dennis Potvin) of Carlisle; one sister, Sara K. Thumma (and husband, Elwood) of Carlisle; one foster-daughter, Stella L. Smith of Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William L. Fraker; two brothers, Smith H. Downes and Carl N. Downes; and one sister, Frances Brantner.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Marla Abe officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the funeral home and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
