Fannie E. Jones, age 88, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
She was born November 8, 1927 in Mechanicsburg to the late Harry E. and Ellen (Baitsel) Lichtenberger and was the widow of the late William M. Jones who passed January 23, 2010.
Fannie was a homemaker who loved farm life and was an excellent cook and baker. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Fannie was a life member of Bible Brethren Church of Carlisle Springs.
She is survived by her five children, John W. (and wife Susan) Jones, James E. (and wife Linda) Jones, Gerald P. (and wife Marjorie) Jones, Joseph M. (and wife Jolene) Jones and Jason L. Jones and his significant other Beverly Kuhn, all of Carlisle; four sisters, Edith Lehman of Mechanicsburg, Elizabeth Myers of Mechanicsburg, Grace Pierce of Annville and Ethel (and husband Charles) Barnett of Carlisle; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Minister John Winand officiating. Interment will be at the Bible Brethren Church Cemetery, Carlisle Springs. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bible Brethren Church, 7600 Wertzville Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
