Evelyn V. Klinger, 93, of Carlisle died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her home.
Born May 11, 1921 in Churchtown, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Laura Smith Weigle and widow of Roy Klinger, Sr.
She was employed as a crossing guard for the Carlisle School District. She was also employed by Reeves Hoffman of Carlisle and the Carlisle Shoe Factory. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carlisle for over seventy-five years. Also attended Mt. Holly Church of God. She was a member of the VFW Post #8851, Boiling Springs Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play Bingo and she was the Queen of Yahtzee. She enjoyed her family and they were the center of her life.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Klinger, Jr. (and wife, Virginia L.) of Gardners and Stephen C. Klinger of Alabama; two daughters, Laurie Chmielewski of Baltimore, MD and Lucy M. Klinger of Carlisle; one daughter-in-law, Karen S. Klinger of Carlisle; one sister, June Adams of Carlisle; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Eugene and Ronald L. Klinger; five sisters, Violet Goodyear, Goldie Shearer, Bertha Foltz, Edna Stine, and Mary Clark; two brothers, Marlin & Harold Weigle.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 602 McLand Rd., Mt. Holly Springs with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
