Evelyn G. Kyle, 95, of Walnut Bottom, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 30, 1915 in Walnut Bottom, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Campbell Devor and the widow of Paul E. Kyle.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom. She was a former Worthy Matron and member of Eastern Star Oswald Taylor Chapter, Newville. Evelyn was very devoted to her family and loved them all. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting and playing bingo.
Surviving are one son, John A. Kyle (and wife, Daree) of Carlisle; three sisters: Aida Hovetter of Walnut Bottom, Lois Porter of Walnut Bottom and Carrie Glass of Carlisle; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons: Ronald Paul, Paul Edgar, Jr. and Jerry Lee Kyle; three brothers: Rodney, Leroy and Charles Devor; one sister, Edna Hovetter; one granddaughter, Kimberly L. Kyle; and one grandson, Johnny Lee Kyle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Harold A. Bolyard, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
