Ethel M. Barnett

Ethel M. Barnett, age 83, of Carlisle, PA, wife of the late Charles M. Barnett, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Hampden Township, PA on December 25, 1939, to the late Harry E. and Z. Ellen (Baitsell) Lichtenberger.

Ethel was a longtime member of Great Hope Baptist Church in Carlisle, PA. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Charles M. Barnett, III and his wife Elaine of Carlisle, PA; daughter Marie E. Bergey and her husband Scott of Bechtelsville, PA; grandchildren Megan Bishop and her husband Justin, Ashley Cobb and her husband Nathan, Travis Barnett and his wife Mackenzie, Amber Wahlberg and her husband Scott, Jarrod Bergey and his wife Anna and Nathan Bergey and his wife Kirsten; great grandchildren Lennon Bishop, Elaina Cobb, Nixon Bishop, Adelynn Cobb, Tyson Wahlberg, Desirae Wahlberg, Vanessa Wahlberg, Brielyn Wahlberg, Eden Bergey, Kaleia Bergey, Joshua Bergey and Zeke Bergey. Ethel is also survived by sisters Grace Pierce of Annville, PA and Elizabeth Myers of Mechanicsburg, PA.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers Harry, John and Robert Lichtenberger and sisters Edith Lehman, Mary Alspaugh, Fannie Jones, and Ruth Brougher.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Churchtown.
