Elmer Ray Hathaway

Elmer “Ray” Hathaway of Carlisle Pennsylvania and formally of S Attleboro Massachusetts and Pinellas Park Florida has passed away on November 12, 2020 at the age of 89 due to complications of dementia. The world is a little dimmer without his light. He was predeceased by his soulmate and wife Ann Marie St Pierre Hathaway and only son Raymond Hathaway. He was also the former husband of Ruth Petty Hathaway.
He was born on April 20, 1931 to Hope Whiting and William Hathaway. He was predeceased by brothers William and Norman and sisters Ruth, Glady and Gertrude. He leaves behind his last surviving brother Robert Hathaway, his daughter Diane and husband Shawn Moran of Shippensburg Pennsylvania and Kathy and husband Frank Janicki of Carlisle Pennsylvania and daughter Robin and husband Josh Belanger of Shippensburg Pennsylvania all formally of South Attleboro Massachusetts. He also leaves behind 8 grand children, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
He had a heart of gold, and was as tough as nails. He had a tireless work ethic and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He adored his family and especially the children and grandchildren. He was quick with a joke and always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was a born again Christian who loved to dance, play pool, golf and spend time with family. This pandemic robbed us of the last eight months of his life, but in the end we were allowed to spend his last four days on this earth with him. A true gift we will never forget. We are forever grateful to the staff at Claremont nursing home where he took his last breath. They were phenomenal passionate and loving. A special thank you to aids Betty, Jen and Jamie who loved him like their father. Our hearts are forever shattered but our minds are thankful that he is reunited with our mother his soulmate and our brother Raymond and his parents and brothers and sisters. Godspeed dad till we meet again!
