Ellen (Shlien) Delson

Ellen (Shlien) Delson, age 71, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Ellen was born in Middletown, Connecticut on May 8, 1947 to the late Herman and Henrietta (Goldstein) Shlien.
Ellen had a true love for her husband Robert. They recently celebrated 49 years of marriage on June 1. She loved watching baseball and women’s basketball games. Her favorite teams were the NY Mets, Boston Red Sox and Yukon Huskies. Ellen and her husband Robert served as host parents to several baseball players including Jorge Cantu. They have followed Jorge through his baseball journey beginning at the early age of 16 in the Hudson Valley. Ellen and Robert lived in West Palm Beach for nine years where she enjoyed cooking, going to the theater, dining out and playing Mahjong. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, dear family friends Karen, Bill and their dog Bailey Rae, and her beloved dogs, Brandy and Bagel.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Robert and extended family Karen and Bill Heeter, Mechanicsburg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Marvin Shlien.
A funeral service will be held at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. There will be a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Mount Holly Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ellen’s name to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
