Ellen M. Leonard

Ellen M. Leonard, 68 of Carlisle, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born April 12, 1945 in Wawa, PA, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Marjorie (Getman) Walter and the widow of Dene R. Leonard Jr.
Ellen was a nurse at the Harrisburg Hospital for nearly 40 years and more recently at West Shore Surgery Center. She enjoyed dancing, studying genealogy, spending time with her family and friends and was a lover of animals.
Surviving are her son, LTC Dene R. Leonard III of Fort Knox, KY and his significant other Angie of Boiling Springs; her daughter Danita L. Leonard and her significant other Donna of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Milton "Charles" Walter Jr and his wife Carol of Deltona, FL; a granddaughter, Dena Leonard of Portland, OR; and four nieces, Dawn Miller, Newville, Jennifer DeVos, York, Tammy Hefner, Hamstead, MD and Laurie Crain, Wellsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael C. Walter.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle is handling the arrangements.
