Eliza "Jean" Marthaler

Eliza "Jean" Marthaler, age 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
She was born on June 25, 1925 in Pikeville, KY to the late Silvanes and Grace Osborn Compton.
Jean worked in a factory in Detroit, MI during World War II to help serve her country. She was an entrepreneur of various businesses including a restaurant, a teacher of dress designing, a flower shop and TLC Home. She loved expressing her creative side through decoupage. Jean was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce (and husband Paul) McMillin of Carlisle and two grandsons, Douglas (and wife Ann) McMillin of Carlisle and Glenn (and wife Heather) McMillin of Sebec, ME. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and two husbands.
In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no services.
