Eleanor Z. Birkenmeier

Eleanor Z. Birkenmeier passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was 92.
Born in Neptune, NJ, she grew up in Pennington, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Deborah Zielsdorff and her sister, Jeanette Bethard.
Eleanor was the wife of the late Robert W. Birkenmeier. They moved to Westfield, NJ in 1953 where they lived for more than 40 years. She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, as well as several charitable organizations. Eleanor worked at the Summit Medical Group and later became Director of Marketing for Sterling Health Care Group, a position she passionately loved. She was also a member of the Guardianship Association of NJ.
Surviving are her three children; daughter, Barbara (and her husband William T.) Wekluk, daughter, Marilyn Birkenmeier and son, Stuart Birkenmeier. Eleanor is also survived by two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 414 E. Broad Street, Westfield, NJ on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:30 a.m.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Country Meadows, West Shore, Mechanicsburg, PA for the many years of kind and compassionate care they provided.
