Edward F. Carpenter, age 61, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.
He was born in Terre Haute, IN on July 8, 1953 to the late Robert Dean and Joann Hoffman Carpenter.
Edward graduated from high school in Richmond, VA and received his BS in Urban Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked as an Optician for Allegheny Optical in Carlisle. Edward was a member and also a deacon at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hiking and photography.
Edward is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joanne Conner Carpenter; one daughter, Chay (and husband Nicholas) Huss of Wilmington, NC; a granddaughter, Kaydence Minges of Shippensburg; two brothers, Arthur and Matthew Carpenter, both of Richmond, VA; a sister, Carol McArthur of Elkton, MD and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Zachary Michael Lee Carpenter.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 N. 23rd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 with Rev. Dr. David A. Roquemore officiating.
