Edward Alonzo DesMoines, age 62, of Carlisle, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his residence.
He was born on September 9, 1953 in Baltimore, MD to the late Lawrence DesMoines and Clara M. Clark DesMoines of Winlock, WA.
Edward retired from the United States Army with a rank of CW3 after serving for 22 years as a communications specialist and helicopter pilot, which included a tour in Vietnam. He subsequently worked as a civilian for the government in Frederick, MD and later was a contractor for the Department of Defense as a communications analyst in Stuttgart, Germany. Edward continued his education throughout his career and attained a BS in Computer Management from the University of Maryland in 2006.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sallie M. Allen of Carlisle, PA; sons, Jason (and wife Dawn) DesMoines of TX, Jeremy (and wife Carmen) DesMoines of GA and Jonathan DesMoines of FL; daughters, Jolie DesMoines of NC and Jessica (and husband Shaun) Evans of Okinawa, Japan; step-sons, Jacob Bobick of NJ and Matthew (and wife Tina) Bobick of TN; sister, Gloria (and husband Donald) Koidahl of WA; brother, Ronald DesMoines of MD; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Gibson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
