E. Ruth Davis

E. Ruth Davis, 86, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at her home.
Born October 27, 1924 in Philadelphia and raised in Upper Darby; she was the daughter of John Alexander and Edna May McCuen.
She was employed by P. R. Hoffman and Do-Ma Corp in Carlisle and then worked at Bon Ton part-time before retiring permanently in 1995 to become a volunteer at Carlisle Hospital. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carlisle, a charter member and past president of American Business Women’s Association and member and officer of Carlisle Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son E. Fred Davis (and wife, Deborah Harlin) of Carlisle and a daughter Deborah Susan Johnson (and husband, David) of Voorhees, NJ. Also surviving are two brothers, Donald J. McCuen of Micco, FL and John Alvin McCuen of Alford, FL.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor Alan Echard officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
