Duane E. Carson

Duane E. Carson, age 67, of Carlisle, went to his heavenly home on December 25, 2015 after a six month long battle with lung cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Julie A. Miller Carson. He is also survived by Duane Carson, Jr. (Donna) of Hollidaysburg, PA, Dani Horn (Daryl) of Dillsburg, Paul Miller (Jackie) of Mechanicsburg, mother-in-law Agnes Miller of Carlisle, sister Barbara Pentz of Swanton, MD, brother Gary of Jasper, GA and six grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis, Dominic, Elizabeth, Hunter and Kyra.
Duane was born in N. Charleroi, PA on August 20, 1948 to E. Eugene and Ethel Mayer Carson. He earned an Associate's Degree from Penn State University - Mont Alto Campus in 1968. Duane and Julie were married on September 3, 1995.
Duane devoted 36 1/2 years to the Commonwealth of PA's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Surveyor Manager. He enjoyed photography, hunting, traveling, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events and musical productions.
Services will be held at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ken Landis officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
