Douglas Scott Landis

July 19, 1967 — June 3, 2021

Douglas Scott Landis, 53, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his home.
He was born July 19, 1967, in Camp Hill to Joyce (husband Pap) Stone of Wellsville and the late Donald Landis.
Doug was a fan of many sports, he enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Braves, and sprint car races at Williams Grove and Lincoln Speedways. He also coached his children’s sports teams and took his boys hunting. Doug loved working with his boys, riding his Harley, going on cruises, woodworking, and traveling to Jamacia. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be remembered by many for his great sense of humor and the smile he constantly had on his face. Doug was a member of the Dutch Club, Steelton where he served on the board of directors for 3 years as a trustee. One of his favorite sayings when his boys made a mistake was “you can give a kid a book and send them to school and all they do is play with the teacher”.
In addition to his mother, Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda L. Landis of Carlisle; three sons, Chuck Zito of Steelton, Doug (wife Jasmine) Landis Jr. of Carlisle, and Justin Landis (girlfriend Alexis Messersmith) of Carlisle; eight grandchildren, Alicyn, Ana, Devon, Angel, Layla, Dougie III, Amberlynn, and Landon; three brothers, Terry (wife Sue) Landis of Dover, Jimmy Rider (companion Lisa Mainhart) of Coudersport, and Roger Landis of Huntersville, NC; two sisters, Lavonda (husband Oren) Helms of Maiden, NC and Jamie (husband Tommy) McKinney of Quarryville; and his step-mother, Brenda Landis of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Bertha Miller.
