Dorothy R. Pine

Dorothy R. Pine, 77, of Newville passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Green Ridge Village.

Born on August 28, 1942 in Newville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Annabell (Walker) Penner. She was the widow of Harry J. Pine.

Dorothy was a very hard worker. She retired from CH Maslands as a factory worker and A.C. Moore as a Salesperson. During her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed camping and living six months out of the year in Delaware at Tuckahoe Acres Camping Resort on the Indian River Bay. She loved the beach life. She was a past member of the AmVets Post 474 and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1299. She enjoyed gambling, playing the lottery, bingo and bowling. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Harry J. Pine (wife Judy) of Carlisle; daughters Shantay Gantz (husband J.R.) of Shippensburg and Kandy Coyle (husband Keith) of Carlisle; grandchildren, Kristy and Shawn Ellis, Amber and Perry Forney (wife Gail), Misty Bixler (husband Matt), Cory Gantz, Brittney Lebo (husband Dustin), Austin Coyle (wife Olivia), and Matthew Coyle (Emily Siwy); 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Sheller and Linda Failor; and a brother, Dave Penner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 12:30 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
