Dorothy Jean Byers, 82, of Carlisle, formerly of Milton, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her home.
Born June 3, 1931 in Catawissa, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Miller and the widow of Fred Byers.
She graduated from the Empire Beauty School, Sunbury. Dorothy owned her own beauty shop in Milton for twenty-three years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Surviving are one son, Steven Girton (and wife Deborah) of Carlisle; one daughter, Cheryl Blass (and partner, Wayne Levan) of Catawissa; three sisters, Margaret James (and husband, William) of Danville, Shirley Eveland of Whitedeer, and Rosemary Loss of Middleburg; one step-daughter, Deb Greenly (and husband, Bob) of Milton; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Girton and a sister, Phyllis Miller.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
