Dorothy A. Vander Ven

Dorothy (Dolly) A. Vander Ven, age 71, of Boiling Springs, PA and formerly of Mt. Morris, NY, was called to Heaven on Thursday, March 17, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Mt. Morris, NY on April 4, 1944 to the late Ignatious and Dorothy Maggerano.
Dorothy was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School. She retired from the Rochester Psychiatric Center with over 30 years of service. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Community Church in West Henrietta, NY. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing baseball and board games with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her son, Matthew S. (and wife Lisa) VanderVen of Boiling Springs, PA; and four grandchildren, Parker, Preston, Logan and Joshua VanderVen.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Mt. Morris Cemetery, 103 Main Street, Mt. Morris, NY with her son, Pastor Matthew S. VanderVen officiating.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
