Dorothy A. Kelley

Dorothy A. Kelley, 89, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Harvey Kelley, who passed away in 2009.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late W. Russel and Lydia Morton Stone.

Dorothy retired after 22 years as a tire builder at Tire and Rubber. She was an active member of The Meeting House where she helped with Vacation Bible School and Pioneer Girls and taught Sunday School.

She enjoyed cross stitch, latch hook and jigsaw puzzles.

Dorothy is survived by her grandchildren: Heidi Wilson, her husband, Michael, of Mt. Holly, Kimberly Metzger, her husband, Pete, of Carlisle, Randall Rice, of Shippensburg, Reuben Rice, his wife, Jessica, of Newville, Rachel Shaw, her husband, Matthew, of Newville, as well 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two children: Dexter Kelley and Sandra Rice, a grandson: Matthew Kelley and nine brothers and sisters: Ruth Eckert, Frances Lehman, Marlin Stone, John Stone, C. Woodrow Stone, Pauline Zinn, Samuel Stone (infant), Clayton Stone and Vesta Eberly.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at The Meeting House, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, PA 17015 and to her funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
