Doris Robinson Widra, 81, of Newville, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born September 11, 1932 in Needmore, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Leslie and Loretta Mae Spade Robinson and the widow of Joseph Widra.
She was Carlisle High School graduate, Class of 1950 and she was crowned Miss Carlisle Fair in 1950. She retired from Shaffer Trucking after many years of service as the over the road permit clerk. She worked for Sea Wheels as a bookkeeper. Doris was a dress designer and model for the former Top Mode Manufacturing of Mechanicsburg. She was the first female to earn her private pilot's license from the Carlisle Airport. She was a former member of the Carlisle Hospital Auxiliary and the Carlisle Civic Club. She was a member of Waggoner's Gap Church of God. Doris's greatest love was her children, she enjoyed gardening, traveling to England, bird watching, and reading.
Surviving four children, Vickie Feuchtenberger Wallick (and husband, David) of Newville, Kathy Lee Feuchtenberger of Waldorf, MD, Edwin J. Feuchtenberger (and wife Charlene) of Newville, and William Lee Feuchtenberger of Newville; one sister, Nancy McGinnes of Warfordsburg; one brother, Thomas Leslie Robison, Jr. of Casselberry, FL; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, E. Lee Feuchtenberger.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
