Doris Jean Monismith, 89, of Carlisle passed away October 30, 2019 at home, while surrounded by her family.
She was born August 5, 1930 in Carlisle to the late Frank C. and Bertha M. (Richwine) Adams and was the widow of the late Paul S. Monismith Jr.
Doris was a Homemaker most of her life and also worked as the cafeteria cashier at Carlisle High School. She was very active in her church and taught Sunday school. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed playing cards, games, baking and making fudge, but most of all being with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Wanda (Mark) Klingensmith, Greensburg, PA, sons, Paul S. III (Pamela) Monismith, Carlisle and Barry (Teresa) Monismith, Fayetteville, PA, grandchildren, Dru Wagner, Heidi Doyle, Amber White, Becky Goodling, Kirsten Abens, Kaitlin Sands, Michael Klingensmith, Jamie Garman and Bradly Monismith, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her seven sisters, Leah Glass, Theresa Hershey, Pauline Barrick, Mildred Stoner, Lois Daugherty, Jackie Spahr and Sarah Albert; and eight brothers Luther, Ray, Robert, Kenneth, Paul, Marlin, George and Clair Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday November 4, 2019 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West Street Carlisle. with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle United Methodist Church in memory of Doris.
