Doris J. Guyton

Doris J. Guyton, 89, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home.
She was born February 7, 1929 in Sunbury, PA to the late Chris C. and Ruth P. (Waite) Baughman.
She was a longtime resident of Huntingdon, PA and she graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1946. Doris was an employee of Swigart Associates Inc. in Huntingdon, PA for 10 years and was later employed by the FBI in Washington DC. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Doris had a passion for history, everything from biblical times to current, especially WWII. She was a former member of Allison United Methodist Church where she led the Wesley Bible Class for 26 years.
Doris is survived by her son, Richard A. Guyton II and wife Melisa Kay of Carlisle, PA; and a granddaughter, Katelyn E. Strohl and husband Nathan A. of Carlisle, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard A. Guyton who passed in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Dr. Vernon Gauthier officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
