Doris Dashiell

November 25, 1924 — January 18, 2012

Doris DaShiell, 87, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born November 25, 1924 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Hopfenthaler and the widow of Albert DaShiell.
After high school she was employed as an executive assistant for the Reading Railroad, Philadelphia. She was also the head of the Motor Club for Triple A, Carlisle. Doris also worked for the Masland family for many years and served as a volunteer for Cancermount. She was a member of the American Business Women Association.
After becoming a mother, Doris devoted the rest of her life to “Her two Boys” and her love for them was unquestionable and never wavered. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving are two sons, David and Daniel DaShiell both of Carlisle; two grandsons, Justin DaShiell (and wife, Nicole) of Perry County and Jeremy DaShiell of Perry County; two great-granddaughters, Kayla and Emma DaShiell; one niece, Ellen Bodenheimer (and husband, Butch); and grandniece and nephew, Lisa and Eric Bodenheimer. She was preceded in death by one brother Joseph Hopfenthaler.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Burial will be in Westminster Mausoleum, Carlisle.
