Donald Y. Frysinger, Sr., 88, of Carlisle, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born December 10, 1922 in Mt. Holly Springs, he was a son of the late Samuel E. Diller and Ernestine Yeingst and the widower of Mary Jane Renfrew Frysinger.
He was employed for 18 years by Carlisle Paper Box Co and later worked for 21 years with Frog, Switch and Manufacturing Co. before retiring. After retiring he worked at Trindle Bowl as a custodian to stay active. Donald served his country during WWII in the South Pacific during which time he received various awards, including the Asia-Pacific Theater Service Medal with three bronze stars. He was an avid fisherman especially on the Conodoguinet Creek with his fly rod and he enjoyed hunting squirrels. He was a great fan of the Miami Dolphins. Donald loved the Middlesex Diner and the people who worked there.
Surviving are one son, Donald Y. Frysinger, Jr. (and wife, Deborah) of Carlisle, two daughters, Donna Frysinger Seith (and husband, Phillip L.) of NY and Linda Frysinger of Mechanicsburg five grandchildren, William, Nicole, Donald E., Tanya and Jamie, great grandchildren, Kara, Cedric, and one more great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Frysinger.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. James Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the funeral home and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
