Donald O. “Buck” Rynard, 87, of Carlisle, died Friday, August 30, 2019 in Manor Care of Carlisle with his family at his side.
He was born in Plainfield, PA on July 29, 1932 to the late John Mohler and Beulah Oiler Rynard.
He retired from the Frog Switch & Manufacturing Co. in Carlisle. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Carlisle. He served his country honorably with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Buck was an avid Phillies Fan and in his early years he enjoyed coaching his two sons in little league baseball. He was an animal lover of all types of pets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 yrs. Beverly E. Kepner Rynard of Carlisle, two sons, Donald L. and his wife (Erickia) Rynard, and Douglas L. and his wife (Emma) Rynard both of Carlisle, one sister, Joyce A. Potts of Plainfield, three grandchildren Anthony D. and Emilee E. Rynard, Megan I. Kulp, two great grandchildren, Layna and Jax Kulp. Buck was preceded in death by a brother, Harold M. Rynard, a sister Doris J. Jumper and a grandson, Matthew D. Rynard.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First United Church of Christ 30 N. Pitt St. Carlisle, PA with the Reverends Chris and Rachel Schwab officiating. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00 AM till time of services. Interment with military honors being provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard will be held in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, PA. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in “Buck’s” name be made to the American Cancer Foundation 125 Lucy Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036.
