Donald L. Thrush

Donald L. Thrush, age 79 passed away on December 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 12, 1943 in Carlisle, PA., son of Paul D. and Mary K. (Rhoads) Thrush.

Donald worked for Kinney Shoes for 15 years and Pyrotek Manufacturing as a machinist for 37 years before his retirement in 2009.

Donald served our Country Honorably in the National Guard working as a medic and earned his marksmanship while he served for 6 years.

He was a car enthusiast who loved going to car shows every weekend with his 56 Chevy Belair and was a lifelong Red Sox baseball fan who also enjoyed watching NASCAR with his family and friends.

Donald belonged to the American Legion Post 223 in Shippensburg, PA and enjoyed going to the Minnequa Social club with his wife Marsha. He and his wife Marsha shared 57 years together and will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and the times they shared as a family going on their trips and celebrating the holidays together.

Donald is survived by his wife Marsha, his daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Michael Swauger, his granddaughter Gabrielle Swauger, his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Larry Killian, his niece Pat Molestatore and his nephews David and Scott Thrush. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Paul and Eleanor Thrush.

A Celebration of Life Service in Honor of Donald will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM with a Visitation for Family and Friends held 30 minutes prior to the service at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 W. Trindle Rd Carlisle, PA. 17013.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Memory of Donald to the charity of your choice.
