Donald Paul Brickner, 77, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Brickner was born in Carlisle, PA, to the late Paul Leroy Brickner and Florence Alice Anderson Brickner. He was, also, preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marcia Brickner.
Donald was a U. S. Air Force veteran where he served with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal squad. He graduated from Shippensburg State College in Shippensburg, PA with a degree in Education. He went to work for AMP Corporation in Harrisburg, PA for several years before it became TE Connectivity. After being sent to Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico for TE Connectivity, he grew that business to over 6,000 employees. He was then transferred to Asheville, NC where he became Director of Global Operations.
Donald was a former Post Commander of the American Legion in Newville, PA. He was a member of the Asheville, NC Pistol and Rifle Club and had a love of archery. He competed nationally and attended the National Archery Competition for many years in Las Vegas, NV.
Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cheryl Ellen Kerr Brickner; a sister, Dorothy Fasick (Garry); two brothers, John Brickner, and Lester Brickner (Vicki) and several nieces and nephews and close friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Hoffman Funeral Home in Carlisle, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Letort Cemetery in Carlisle, Pa at 1198 Claremont Road, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ABCCM, www.abccm.org or the Lutheran Church of the Nativity at 2425 Hendersonville, Road, Arden NC. 28704
