Diane Sunday Beam

Diane Sunday Beam, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at her residence.
She was born March 12, 1929 in Carlisle to the late Wilbert and Margaret (Brubaker) Sunday and was the widow of Clyde O. Beam.
Diane was a teacher's aide in the Carlisle School system and worked at Dickinson College. She loved to exercise, was an avid swimmer and enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA. Diane was a longtime member of Middlesex United Methodist Church where she was a church leader and involved in the Sunday school and music programs as music was her ministry. She read her Bible every day, was faithful to Scripture and believed that "The Word was her example". Diane will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by: her son, Steven S. (and wife Jacalyn); daughters, Janice M. (and husband Paul) Kirkley and Patricia D. Shambaugh; sister-in-law, Gwen Sunday; grandchildren, Katie (and husband Corey) Spies, Steven (and wife Elizabeth) Beam, Sarah (and husband Yancey) Music, Benjamin Shambaugh, David (and wife Emily) Beam, Jill Shambaugh and Rebekah Kirkley; great-grandchildren, Maddi, Kenzie, Georgia, Audrey, Delilah, Matthew, Ethan, Andrew and one forthcoming. In addition to her parents and husband, Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13. 2017 at Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jan F. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
