Diane Forman O'Connor of Boiling Springs passed away peacefully at her home on January 2, 2014. Born in 1929 in Ossining, New York, Diane was a graduate of Wellesley College in MA and lived in Brewster, NY; Stephen City, VA; and Boiling Springs, PA for the past 25 years.
She was happily married to Robert J. O'Connor for over 56 years before he passed away in 2009. Diane was a mother and homemaker who orchestrated the framing, marketing and sale of her husband's watercolor artwork. Together they traveled the United States to exhibit his works and later traveled to several destinations in Europe. She was an avid reader, enthusiastic bird watcher and supporter of animals (except for the deer who ate her flowers). She was an avid craftswoman; creating many needlework pieces for her family & friends to treasure.
She is survived by her two children: Jeannette Finch and her husband Richard of Walkersville, MD and Michael O'Connor and wife Cynthia of Silver Spring, FL, four grandchildren; Jaclyn Austin and husband Richard, Robert Finch, Lisa O'Connor, and Katie O'Connor. She will affectionately be remembered as GiGi to her four great grandchildren: Mackenzie Austin, Olivia Austin, Emilie Hebert and Claire Hebert.
The family recognizes Dorothy Gutshall and Ruth Jones for the kind and loving care they provided to Diane. They would also like to thank Celtic Hospice for the wonderful cared they provided.
A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are contributing to the Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 311, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-0311in Diane's honor.
