Dennis L. Porter

Dennis L. Porter, age 63, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 13, 1954 in Carlisle.
Dennis worked at the Country Butcher, Carlisle, for over 20 years and at Bender & Sons Construction, Dillsburg. He loved spending time in the outdoors and especially loved his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by: his mother, Peggy (Rose) Porter; his daughter, Denise (husband Tim) Hertzler of Newville; his son, Josh Porter (companion Michelle White) of Newville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Cherry Ellis; a brother, Stewart Porter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his father, Stewart Porter; two brothers, Steve and John Porter; and twin sisters that died at birth.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
