It is with heavy hearts that the family of Delores Burdett, 89, announces her passing at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle on December 25, 2024. We are all so indebted to Sarah Todd Nursing Home who have taken such great care of her. She is leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. All that knew her would say "what a sweet lady she is". & she was truly a lady. She will be sorely missed by family and many friends over the years.
Delores was born on Monday October 14, 1935, in New Castle, PA to the late Charles Edward and Dorothy Kathryn (Newton) Williams. She has been in Carlisle for many years since her husband was transferred as a regional manager. She would help her husband with many functions at the Senior Center of Carlisle and always said how enjoyable this was. She also for 5 (five) years was the manager of Northview Manor of Carlisle where she spent raising her three grandsons.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school. She was a devoted homemaker and gave her loving mothering and nurturing to all of her children and the neighborhood children too- she just had so much to give.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Jerry T. Burdett Sr., children: Donald Fraser, Dan Fraser, Christine Rogers and Rebecca Fraser, two step children: William Burdett and Jerry Burdett Jr., thirteen grandchildren (Donald Fraser, Michael Fraser, Jeffrey Fraser, Jessica Wright Maldet, John Wright, Christopher Fraser, Tiffany Fraser, Danny Fraser, Christopher Fraser, Gregory Such, Megan Such and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Gregory Fraser, grandson Kenny Fraser, three brothers and two sisters.
To my wife and our mother in heaven, thank you for always loving us and guiding us. Even though you are no longer here with us I can feel your love reaching out still to guide us. You will always be in our hearts. We love you and miss you so dearly. "Say not in grief that she is no more but live in thankfulness that she was" - as grief is the price we pay for love. Your spirit will forever guide us.
A service will be held in her honor at gravesite at 2:00PM on Monday December 30, 2024 at Waggoners Church Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Kish of Bethel Assembly of God officiating. We will announce at the service a family gathering to have together at 3pm. Thank you all for your love you have always shown Delores & know she just has always wanted all to be in heaven with her someday.
